MD: Maple Street Pâtisserie doesn’t do any marketing, and yet it’s always full. No website, no Facebook, no nothing. They rely on word of mouth fueled by the mad skills of the co-owner, a European master baker with all the experience belied by his flour-dusted hair. Best thing about the pastries at MSP is that they are the perfect combination of lightness and sweetness, which lets you go about your day in a cloud of happiness. Not bad for a ham and cheese croissant. Or the best slice of apple strudel this side of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. And let's not forget the billion-tiered wedding cakes they make or crumbly seasonal fruit mille feuilles. Somewhere between making all of these delights, you'll find that the staff here are happy to discuss their craft with you in a manner, and at a length, that would make Brillat-Savarin proud.
